Guidelines for Requests to Law Enforcement Authorities

The Law Enforcement Guidelines set out the terms of Vendora’s process for responding to law enforcement requests for information. Any request we receive from law enforcement must comply with these terms. Law enforcement officials may contact us regarding these guidelines at: legal@vendora.gr .

  1. Vendora BV is responsible for information requests

Vendora BV is a company registered and based in the Netherlands, which provides services for purchasing selected products to its users within the European Union. Vendora BV, as data controller, handles all data disclosure requests from law enforcement authorities relating to user or transaction information. Therefore, all requests for information must be addressed to Vendora BV, even if we have a local presence in the country from which the requesting law enforcement authority originates. We will not provide any information if the request is not addressed to Vendora BV.

  1. Information stored by Vendora BV

Protecting the privacy and personal data of our users is extremely important to us. However, we will support law enforcement authorities to the extent we are able and required to do so. We may not have the requested information or may not have it fully stored in our system. For example, card payment details are not stored by Vendora and we can only provide authorities with fragmented financial data (such as the last 4 digits of a card number), which we receive from our payment service provider.

More information about the personal data we collect and store can be found in our Privacy Policy. In general, we will respond to valid and properly communicated requests, to the extent permitted by our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and applicable law.

  1. Requests from Dutch law enforcement authorities

We ask the Dutch authorities with supervisory and investigative powers to provide us with a warrant, court order or other legally binding order to provide a user’s personal data. All conditions listed in section 5 must be met before we can provide the requested information.

  1. Requests from law enforcement authorities outside the Netherlands

Law enforcement authorities outside the Netherlands may submit a request under the European Investigation Order (EIO) and the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) or issue a Letter of Legal Assistance, as appropriate, to the Dutch authorities.

  1. What information should be included in the request?

We will only process requests addressed to Vendora BV. Requests addressed to local Vendora entities or Vendora services will not be considered.

Additionally, we will only process requests that meet the following requirements. The request must be in formal written form, in PDF format, and include:

  • The clear legal basis for the request and a (brief) summary of the investigation
  • A clear description of the natural or legal person whose information is being requested. Note: We can only identify users in our system if we have specific information, such as a username, full name, or email address.
  • A clear outline of the specific data required for the investigation and the period in which the information is sought. The request for “all of this user’s data” is not specific enough
  • The expected response time frame. Note: It may take time to gather information, especially if the request is broad in scope.
  • The name of the competent authority, the name, badge/identity number and signature of the responsible agent or officer, as well as the email address and a direct contact number

Please be as specific as possible and remember that all requests for information must be reasonable, proportionate and necessary for the stated purpose.
